Friends

The Friends feature in Scramble Cloud allows you to add trusted contacts to your account in order to share files and folders securely and efficiently. This function is designed for regular collaboration and repeated file exchanges with known users.

What are Friends in Scramble Cloud?

"Friends" are other Scramble users that you manually add to your personal contact list. Once added, you can share files and folders with them directly in Scramble. Sharing is performed through the Friends List and allows you to set specific access permissions.

Benefits

  • Faster, more streamlined sharing with saved contacts

  • Centralized management of all shared relationships and permissions

  • Improved clarity when working in teams or group projects

  • Maximum security through end-to-end encryption at all times

How to add Friends

  1. Open the Friends section in the Scramble Cloud Web App via the main menu.

  2. Click the navigation Icon for “Add Contact” and enter the email address or username of an existing Scramble user you want to add.

  3. The recipient will receive an invitation and must accept it.

  4. Once accepted, the user will appear in your friends list and will be available for direct sharing.

Sharing Content with Friends

Once a user is added as a friend, you can share content as follows:

  1. Navigate to the file or folder you wish to share.

  2. Right-click on the item and select “Share”.

  3. Select the desired friend from the contact list.

  4. Define the access level (e.g. read-only or full access).

  5. Confirm the sharing action.

The recipient will gain access via their own Scramble account. All content remains protected by Scramble’s end-to-end encryption. You can find more informations about this in section Sharing.

Managing Friends

  • You can remove friends from your list at any time.

  • Permissions for shared content can be adjusted via the sharing settings.

  • All active shares remain visible and traceable within your drive and the sharing history.
